Thanksgiving Day 2008

We were thankful to be able to spend the day with the Emberleys! We had fun playing games and just being with cousins!! Hope you all had a wonderful day too!

Younge-Keith Day 11/25/2008

We were SO happy to have our dear friends the Younges come for a visit on Tuesday!! To give you some background, the Younges lived just down the road from us and went to our church until the summer of 2007 when they moved far away. A couple of summers ago, we had 9 weeks of summer vacation with no plans for them. With 9 weeks and 9 children, we quickly realized that was 1 week per child to choose something to do together. We made lots of fieldtrips, lots of memories and had lots of fun!! Tuesday we were reunited and had lots more fun. We were all sad when the Younges moved away, but none so sad as J. The Younge's N was J's best friend in the whole world. It was so sweet to see them pick up their friendship again as if they had never been apart!
Best Friends!!
Goofy faces

More best friends...

Nine children, one large table, lots of fun and not one word of complaint...all day!!

You are never too old for playdough!!

I LOVE my dinning room table!!

Did I mention I love my table?? Thank you, Honey for making it for me!!

A battle of ships, but no battle of words! Best Friends are FOREVER!!

K has a new hole in her head! She pulled it out all by herself!!

The children had a half day of school yesterday, so K invited a couple of friends over for a small "friends" birthday party. We stuck to the Ladybug theme. K chose chicken noodle soup for lunch and ladybug cupcakes. Our only planned activity was painting rocks into ladybugs. It was just enough. Getting free time to just enjoy playing together was the best! K's birthday is not until the 15th but after her first party with the grandparents she asked if she could say she was 6 yet. I told her that would be fine-once you've had your party, it is OK. Last night she did something she shouldn't have and I made the mistake of saying, "You know better then that, you are 6 years old now." To which she replied, "No, I'm not yet. My birthday isn't until next week!" I guess when you have your party early, you can choose which days you want to be 5 and which days you want to be 6!! Don't worry, she wasn't being fresh, just really cute!
A scaled-down Ladybut picnic!
Enjoying chicken noodle soup for lunch.

One more note about school soccer...Yesterday, the boys won their first game in 7 years!!! It was a close game (7-6) and it was so fun to watch! B & J got assists and the littlest player on the team scored a goal. We didn't think it would happen this year, but it did!
K's theme this year was Ladybugs! She got to pick the theme, kind of cake and what we had for dinner.
The cake was confetti with vanilla frosting.
The Keith cousins-we couldn't get a good shot of J!
The only thing K asked for was a stuffed giraffe--that was after we told her should couldn't have a real horse or a real dog!
Our Ladybug!

Good Morning! We had Fall Festival at school yesterday. The children are dismissed at 11:30 for a cookout and fun time on the soccer field. There are game booths set up, face painting (my job!) and cotton candy. Mrs. L even dressed up as a clown! Most of the students agree that it is their favorite day of the year. It was an OK day, not the most beautiful one we've had, but the sun was not scorching hot and it was not raining and as long as the breeze was blowing, the bugs were not biting. Enjoy the pictures!!

Good Morning,
Just a few details on the school soccer team. Our team has one senior and one sophmore and the rest are between 4th and 8th grade. You can see the hight difference between B and the other team in the last picture. That is very typical! The boy next to J is 4th grade and comes to most of the guys' waists. Most of our games have ended with a 7 or 8 -1 or 0 loss. It is very sad. But we keep telling them that in a couple more years....It seems like we've been saying that for a long time! They keep playing hard and doing their best, so that is all we ask of them. B came very close to scoring yesterday, but just couldn't get his foot on it solidly enough. B & J are learning a lot with the town team that has helped them with the school. B's confidence has gone way up this year so that has been nice to see.
